Life Savoured is about a lifestyle. Mine. Since leaving my full time (and a half) job two years ago in an attempt to find ‘better balance’, I’ve found anything but. This is an ongoing experiment, sharing who I am, who I want to be, and the journey from point A to point B.
I like to think of myself as a traveler, a cook, a foodie, a mom, a wife, a crafter, a creative, and a recovering workaholic. And that’s exactly what I want to be. Just times 10.
This is about finding the time. Not organizing your life, mind you. I lose my car keys and phone in my own house on an almost-daily basis. You don’t want organization advice from me. But, in my own way, I do try to ‘make the time’ by finding ways to make the things I do more enjoyable.
Since I was a kid, I have wanted to be a “Martha”. Not Martha herself, but a jack of all trades, like the well-bred heroines in the Victorian era novels I love to read. Be able to decorate like no body’s business, whip up a gourmet meal, plant some rose bushes during nap time, and not even break a sweat while doing it. I wanted to be able drop anecdotes into conversations about worldly places I’d visited (with and without kids), be able to say that “I made those candle holders’, or, ‘I harvested these eggs this morning. Oh, didn’t you know? I keep chickens’. Well. I’m pretty sure local ordinances here in Redondo Beach make the last one a no-go, but, I am determined to have the rest.
So here’s my mission for Life Savoured. I am taking this unique opportunity and time in my life, to do what I want to do, and try to enjoy the journey. This blog is a sharing of my trials and errors, my success and failures, and my humble opinions and thoughts, as I work at becoming the Renaissance Woman I was born to be.
